Earth Centered Philosophy

The system for living in balance and harmony with the earth is based on the observation of nature in four divisions.

Within this system there are four races of man with all races being equal and every aspect of nature was equal in their purpose.

The natural part of the native structure is the great spirit, allies of the great spirit, people spirits and the spirits of all the other energies.

But we have forgotten these sacred things; the four powers, the four elements of creation, the four directions, the four aspects of life.

About

Mawandajai: Remembering the Future, is film documentary based on a philosophical manuscript written by Darryl Brown, aka, Medidegwe Anamosh of the Mackinac Bands of Chippewa and Ottawa Indians. The film is a metaphysical journey born of an ancient philosophy offering a hopeful vision for a modern world falling into spiritual darkness and on the brink of environmental destruction.

The film explores Mr. Brown’s concepts of “Death Culture” and “Life Culture,” and how humanity must choose the later in order to preserve life as we know it.

Death Culture speaks to modernity, where the human condition is measured by economic output; GDP, employment rates, market valuations and other calculations resulting in dehumanization, poverty, environmental destruction, ongoing warfare, as well as a metaphysical loss of home. In contrast, Mawandajai brings forth the vision of “Life Culture” based on the Earth centered philosophy of Native American wisdom that envisions a saner and sustainable future that will restore the sense of community, belonging and purpose for all people.
